Law Lords rejection of torture a stinging rebuff

Commenting on the unanimous House of Lords judgement that evidence that may have been obtained under torture cannot be relied upon in British courts, Liberal Democrat European justice spokeswoman Baroness Sarah Ludford MEP said:

"This is a fantastic judgement. It is not only a stinging rebuff to the government of Tony Blair, it is also a resounding rejection of the practice of or complicity in torture by US and European governments."
